My name is Noelle and I am a Métis student at Mount Royal University. I was born and raised in Victoria BC, and while I love living in Alberta, I miss the ocean so much that I try to see it once a year.
Before studying midwifery I worked in theatre which took me all over Canada and to the UK. While living in England I discovered midwifery and became fascinated by the community midwifery model; when I looked into the Canadian model of midwifery care I realized that I needed to pursue a career as a midwife.
I am passionate about informed choice and evidence-based care, and I am also humbled by the wisdom of traditional ways of knowing. It is always an honour to be a witness to birth. I am so grateful to the incredible families that welcome me on their experiences of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Outside of midwifery I love drinking coffee, fermenting foods, reading good books, and (re)watching the extended editions of The Lord of the Rings.
