I initially studied International Relations at the University of Calgary. I soon learned that I wanted to work in the field rather than behind a desk, and while looking into Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF/Doctors Without Borders), I discovered midwifery. The more I learned about the incredible work midwives do, the more I knew that this was the right journey for me. Being present at the birth of my two vivacious nieces solidified the call to becoming a midwife. While waiting to get into the midwifery program at Mount Royal University, I had the pleasure of being a doula for numerous families and furthered my education, focusing on trauma-informed care.
When I’m taking a break from my studies, you can find me sipping a cup of coffee or tea while immersed in a good book with my cats, Tony Stark and Pepper Potts. I also love gallivanting through the mountains. I am so excited and honoured to be welcomed into the experiences and journeys of the families being cared for by the Aurora midwives.
