Laura Dhanwant

Laura will be back from Maternity Leave March 1st 2019

I was drawn to midwifery because I am a strong believer in informed choice and holistic health care. I began my career in health care as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Kelowna B.C., working in acute care and palliative care. I was compelled to transition to midwifery because I felt strongly about being part of a health care team in which I could provide quality care to women while ensuring they feel empowered and knowledgeable about their own health.

In 2012, after relocating to Toronto, I graduated with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Midwifery with Honours from Ryerson University. After which, I again relocated to Calgary with my supportive partner, and have been honoured to provide inclusive care in both community and hospital settings.

I feel incredibly grateful for the privilege of supporting clients and their families through their birth experiences and to witness powerful transformative moments throughout pregnancy and birth.
