Madeline Maes

My devotion to caring for individuals starting or expanding their families began partway through studying International Relations at the University of Calgary. I realized the desk-job life was not for me, and I yearned for a more hands-on career. Shortly after, I discovered midwifery and dove head first into the world of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Along my path to becoming a midwife, I completed a certificate in Counselling Women through the University of Athabasca and became a Registered Yoga Therapist, focusing on helping individuals work through trauma held in the body. My goal as a midwife is to ensure everyone has access to safe, compassionate, informative, and consensual care throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. Whether it’s your first, second, or eighth baby, each pregnancy is unique, and I cannot wait to walk alongside you and help you write this chapter in your story.

When I am not being a midwife, I enjoy sipping a cup of tea while immersed in a good book with my cats, Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, galavanting through the mountains, and attempting to knit and garden.
